ELM327 activate permanent lighting, enable display of time & temperature

ELM327 interfaces arrived, and now the fun begins. I ordered it on Friday evening and it arrived last night, 5 days from order to delivery.

See the two ELM327 interfaces i have:

I chose good ELM327 with original PIC18F25K80 FDTI chip, avoid bad clones that do not work

I will show you now what i did with the two:

activate the permanent lighting of the TDB and enable the display of time and temperature

start the ELM327 DDT4All version Française

Note: DDT4All is tool to create your own ECU parameters screens and connect to the vehicle with an ELM327 cable.

This application is work in progress, so be very careful when using expert mode. If you're brave enough to use it and it's working (or not), please tell me so I can update the tested ECUs database. Using the application in non expert mode should not be harmful for your vehicle (leave the expert mode button released).

choose the com port corresponding to the connection mode, put the cross in "I am aware" and click on "connected mode"

choose the vehicle

go into TDB cluster

then double click on FR cluster

then ditto in the window below then on TDB and change configurations

switch to expert mode

change the desired parameters (clock, temperature, permanent lighting, etc ...) then validate by clicking on save

it's finished ;)

Note: even if I prefer the ELM327 USB, a good ELM327 Bluetooth will work
you have an ELM test in the soft, it is necessary that all the line AT are OK at least until version 1.3

How to choose the best key cutting machine

Here are key cutting machines talked a lot: Xhorse Condor, Miracle A7, Viper machine, Ninja laser & x6 key cutter

so, which one is the best?

condor xc-mini is a good budget machine , more suited to the workshop than mobile due to size and weight. it has some bugs , some issues and some gaps , but the quick and easy update for lifetime plus wonderful function are the scoring points. this for what it costs, on the whole a decent machine for the money.

miracle A7 s a reliable machine , has a few bugs but reliable as a light use machine , ideal mobile on a van and space saving .

Viper is a heavy machine and can play up in cold , but is a great heavy duty machine that will give a lifetime of reliable use and receives lifetime updates and as Silca is normally up to date.

Ninja laser - excellent machine , nothing better for me on sx9 keys , laguna 3 , megane 3 , new clio cards using 1234Q5678H series and decoding and cutting clio 3 keys , fast reliable cutting that allows you to pick various styles of cut as well as adjust to half cuts etc , the software can take getting used to due to the functions available on it , adds cylinder keys to your services too , its a well built machine that is like silca updated for life free.

So, Condor mini vs Miracle A7 vs X6 key cutter vs Viper machine vs Ninja laser:
Most key cutting machines will cut a tibbe key on a clamp , but none will in my view cut a perfect tibbe key , a stand alone option will always cut a better key and far quicker too .

I have all of the above machines , so have hands on and regular experience with each machine and use them all , i like them all over the next for certain functions and all do different jobs for me , viper will always be my baby as it was my first , but ninja laser is catching it up fast my only gripe is viper is 30 second boot time , ninja laser is 4 minutes to boot up , but these 2 are in a league of their own
condor xc-mini key machine is a far superior machine to the x6 key cutter, the x6 is a starter machine for very light use and build quality is poor in comparison , i had an x6 to play with for a few months , i wouldn’t buy one having gone hands on with it , condor will last longer and be more reliable of the 2 , its at least being supported and updated which is a big plus and is a far superior build quality to the x6 which at best is a hobby or starter machine .
it isn’t always 100% accurate , but the find biting function on condor is useful if you don’t have instacode to hand , and is a useful addition that makes the condor more useful.

Below is what i tested with Condor machine.

Do Toyota TOY43 all key lost, save you a lot of time
Cut Suzuki, Mazda (key tooth in ignition lock more than door lock) all key lost, simply by enter the key code
Do Hyundai, Kia, Peugeot, and Citroen all key lost, directly program keys
HU101 works fine, HU92 works fine.
HU66 OK, have to do two passes on each side to get the key to work, same with hu100.
Fix the problem that other key cutting machines cut domestic Honda key not accurately.

But it is a pity that there is no solution for Renault emergency bladeyet.

GM Tech 2 scan tool reprogram PCM

Discussion: Tech 2 scan tool can or cannot refalsh an ECM

A: A TECH II cannot re flash an ECM. It is a diagnostic tool used to diagnose issues with all your car’s computers ECM/BCM / ABS —-In order to do a relash back to stock you need other software The dealer does have alternative software programs to flash your ECM back to stock But it is NOT the TECH II Many repair shops have the TECH II it is common software for any shop to do diagnostics ONLY
You can have the dealer reflash your ECM back to stock for like $150 OR you can have a tuner do the same thing–someone with HP or EFILIVE However the benefit with a tuner having HP or EFILVE is that they can “compare” your existing ” tune to a totally stock tune from a car of the similar year and same operating system—-The dealer cannot compare your existing yune from a stock tune—–A tuner can compare your tune and if he deems it is indeed stock then there would be no need for the cost of a full re flash

B: This is not true at all. I just programmed my new PCM to stock using the AcDelcoTDS site and a Tech2. The Tech2 won’t do newer cars, up past like 2008 or so, but for the C5 it’s a great tool. It is also a diagnostic tool as well, but for service programming, the only thing it lacks is the ability to do that stuff without paying GM the $55 subscription fee. Pay the $55 and you’re on your way.

If you want to know if the tune in your car is stock, all you need to do is get the tune from your car and have someone with HPTuners or EFI open it with the compare function and see what’s different. There might be super minuscule things, but for the most part it should show no differences.

A: What to the heck you mean ? I said exactly the same things as you concerning what a tech2 can or cannot do so I am confused as to why you say I am wrong when I said the same thing as you did

B: Ok, well yes. the Tech2 CAN reprogram the PCM. Yes, AcDelco also has other programs you need to interface to in order to do it, but the Tech2 absolutely WILL reprogram one. I just replace my own a week ago and used a Tech2 to do it, and NEEDED the Tech2 to do it.
